Shorter College is a private, two-year liberal arts HBCU with a 140-year legacy of academic excellence, community leadership, and faith-driven service. More than historic, Shorter College holds a unique distinction as the only private two-year historically black college in the entire nation.
Located in North Little Rock, Arkansas in the heart of Central Arkansas, the institution is committed to creating accessible pathways for students, empowering non-traditional learners, and delivering career-focused programs that strengthen both the local community and the broader national landscape.

Our work focused on content strategy, social media management, audience growth, enrollment storytelling, and making sure the brand actually connects with the community and beyond.
The Problem
Shorter College was facing what a lot of small schools quietly struggle with: a story bigger than their platform. Limited reach, outdated digital presence, and messaging that didn’t reflect the student life, culture, or campus energy they truly had. Their audience didn’t know the full depth of what the school offered, and enrollment interest was losing the convenience battle to bigger institutions.
ouR SOLUTION
Our solution was a full brand rebuild powered by strategy, not surface-level posting. We transformed the college’s digital presence from feeling like a bulletin board into a platform with story, structure, and intention.
To update their core digital home, we worked with MRW on their WordPress environment, guiding the redesign and technical refresh.
For the brand’s new visual identity, we led full institutional photography efforts with Claret, a professional branding photographer centrally located right HERE in Arkansas. Instead of staged or generic imagery, the photoshoot spotlighted real students, genuine campus moments, and official school merchandise to communicate culture and credibility simultaneously.
All content sets and campaign visuals were produced by our in-house graphic designer, Rivano.
The outcome? A professional digital presence supported by strategy, storytelling, and institutional visuals that finally matched their mission and positioned Shorter College for the audience they were built to serve.
